Who Am I?

cristianWho is Cristian Gonczi?

A curious individual who’s favorite library is found in the people around him.

I was born in the northern part of Romania called “Ardeal”, an area that is also commonly known as “Transilvania“. A beautiful countryside which I left at the age of 8, when my parents decided to migrate to Austria.

Austria, Worthersee

My favorite memories are of dark blue lakes, evergreen forests, and endless mountain peeks. I grew up at the feet of the Austrian Alps, and swam in the ice cold waters of the “Wörther See”. In Austria I have learned to make friends with people that had nothing in common with me. The common ground was our differences: different countries, different cultures, and speaking different languages. It must have been this experience that planted the seed of curiosity in other people’s lives and backgrounds.

Career History/Plans:
In the past few years I was exposed to the world of entrepreneurship. I learned about the challenges and joys of running a business. New adventures every day, flexible schedule, nightmares about running out of cash.

My adventures took me from the field of construction, to the IT world, where my company eTools Guy Inc. allowed me insight into the world of networks, firewalls, viruses, and broken hard drives. From residential customers, to putting out fires for busy business customers, it has all been a joy.

Where am I today? Currently I am deepening my roots in Oregon, wrapping up my Bachelor’s degree in Finance, at Portland State University. After graduating, I would like to work for a company that allows me to combine my interest for technology, with my passion for Finance.

My first and favorite IT venture.

Personal Goals:
My goal in life is to be a resource for those around me. I want to do that in my free time, and in my profession. I work on my goal on a daily basis, helping my fellow students succeed at school, providing helpful information and resources to friends and people I meet, and keeping my readers and followers informed about current issues related to business & technology.

To keep myself motivated, I remind myself of the following quote: “Good, Better, Best, never let it rest, until your Good is Better, and your Better is Best!” , Tim Duncan

This quote is reflected in everything I do, and thus far the rewards have been beyond measures.

Thank you for your visit, and please write me a few lines. I would love to hear from you!
